Path Forward Scholarship Information

Ciara CD3D SCID

Our goal is to ease the challenges faced by SCID families by providing financial support to those affected.

What is a Path Forward Scholarship?

The SCID Foundation is proud to offer the Path Forward Scholarship to families in the U.S. currently undergoing treatment for Severe Combined Immune Deficiency (SCID).

We recognize the significant financial burden that comes with a SCID diagnosis. Parents often face the sudden need to take a leave of absence from work to care for their child. Families with multiple children may also be advised to separate siblings to protect the SCID-affected child, adding both financial strain and emotional stress to the household.

Our goal is to help ease some of these challenges by providing financial support to affected families.

To help ease the financial burden that SCID families often face, we have established this scholarship program. Approved families may receive scholarships of up to $1,000. These funds can be used for essential expenses such as travel to and from the hospital, childcare for siblings, or even household bills that may accumulate during treatment.

With newborn screening for SCID now available in all 50 states, we are receiving a high volume of applications. To ensure fairness, please submit only one request per family. Please also note that the application review process may take four to six weeks.

Scholarship funds will be disbursed directly to a PayPal or Zelle (bank based account only, not through the Zelle app) account registered in the applicant’s name. If you do not already have an account, please create a free Paypal account before submitting your application.

Anyone who would like to support this vital program can donate by clicking the “Donate” button below. Contributions can also be made by check, payable to SCID Foundation, and mailed to:
